FORGIVING MYSELF

By Bob / January 3, 2024

Ever Felt like you are not GOOD-ENOUGH for God?

Never feel embarrassed to tell him how bad you have sinned .

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

*God’s forgiveness is complete, entire, whole, immediate.

When you don’t come to God to be forgiven, it is as if you refuse to listen to Him.
By not hearing God, you separate yourself from Him.

Psalm 32:5, “I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’ — and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
*When you ask for forgiveness, God forgives you.  It is as if  He removes the earplugs from your ears, and you can hear Him again.

I’ve been told for years that when I forgive myself I’ll be free.

1 John 1:9 offers a promise. When we hold up our sin before God, He is faithful and just to forgive ALL our sins.

Faithful to us? Yes, to us. But also faithful to who He is, and His plan for our forgiveness through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross as JESUS bore OUR sin.

But it doesn’t end there. You see, when we are forgiven, our sin is re-framed.
*Yes it still happened.
*But God removes it from us as far as the east is from the west.
Psalm 103:12  He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

Perhaps you carry shame, guilt or fear. You’ve been trying to forgive yourself, but realize you can’t undo the past.
You’ve said you’re sorry. You have changed. But the guilt or burden remains.
Hand that shame to your Savior today, and allow Him to hurl it as far as the east is from the west.

It’s not your burden to carry any longer.

Romans 8:1 So now there is NO condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

CASTING OUT FEAR

By Bob / December 30, 2023

We cannot show forth God’s Life and self-life at the same time.

“Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?” James
3:11
The fear of man finds its fuel source in our sin nature.

It all began when Satan was no longer content to be a worshiper in heaven—rather, he longed to be worshiped.
That lust in his heart led him to think outside the boundaries that God had established for him.

When Satan came to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, he subsequently sowed that fallen nature into the human race—a desire to live and think independently of God, ultimately wanting to be as God.

With that sin nature now entrenched in humanity, the next step was the innate desire to be worshiped—and so fallen man began to turn to one another for approval.

That is why we tend to be so greatly affected by other people’s
opinions of us; why our whole identity suddenly hinges on whether we are a success or failure in other people’s eyes.

Consider how tragic it would be to stand before the Lord one day and have somebody we once knew look us in the eye and say, “You knew the truth. You knew there was a heaven and a hell! I know I was nasty, but why didn’t you open your mouth and tell me anyway? You knew I was going to go here and you knew my children would end up here. ****Why didn’t you speak to me?”

Sadly, the only reason any child of God would have is: “I longed for your
favor more than the favor of God. I wanted you to like me. I didn’t want you to laugh at me; I wanted your praise.” What a trap it is when we love the praise of men more than the praise of God!

According to Paul, the only way to escape this snare of the fear of man is by calling out to God, knowing that He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind (see 2 Timothy 1:7).

Furthermore, the Scriptures tell us that “there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18).

The love of God will not only drive out fear, but it will compel us to go back to those who are living without God in order to do them good, irrespective of their response toward us.

Lord, Thank You for Your word which is absolute Truth.  Help me daily to share Your Truths with the people you put in front of me.  Help me share Your love and compassion for Your Glory.  Amen

The Root of Bitterness

By Bob / December 27, 2023

“See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:15
The enemy of our souls has a very specific strategy to destroy relationships.
Whether these relationships are in business, marriage, or friendships, the strategy is the same.
A conflict arises, judgments are made, and feelings are hurt.
What happens next is the defining point of whether the enemy gains a foothold, or the grace of God covers the wrong.
When a root of bitterness is allowed to be planted and grown(Time does not heal all wounds!), it not only affects that person, but it also affects all others who are involved.

Root of bitterness is like a cancer (A root is a part of a tree that cannot be seen, and it will have small roots springing from it).
** Breaking Satan’s foothold requires at least one person to press into God’s grace.
*It cannot happen when either party “feels” like it, for none of us will ever feel like forgiving.
*None of us feel like talking when we have been hurt.
*Our natural response is to withdraw or lash out at the offending party.
*You have to have a forgiving heart before you can be at peace with yourself.
1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
It is only obedience that allows God’s grace to cover the wrongs incurred.
*This grace prevents the parties from becoming victims who will seek compensation for their pain.
Even Jesus learned obedience through what He suffered. Hebrews 5:8.
The next time you are hurt by someone, realize the gravity of the crossroads where you find yourself.
**Choose grace(Humility releases grace) instead of bitterness. Then you will be free to move past the hurt, and a root of bitterness will not be given opportunity to grow.
Ephesians 4:32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Dear LORD, I choose to let the struggles of life make me better and not bitter. I forgive those who have hurt me, and refuse to hold a grudge. I will look for the good in every difficult situation and think the best of others. I know that a bitter heart produces bitter fruit, and I refuse to allow my heart to get caught in that trap. Now, Lord, help me accomplish what I have just confessed. In Jesus name, amen.‎

Shame No Longer Has Me

By Bob / December 11, 2023

“Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” Psalm 34:5
Perhaps the simplest way to understand shame is to think back on a moment when you experienced it.
You may have felt embarrassment, discomfort or self-consciousness.

Shame can also express itself in much weightier emotions, like when we feel humiliated, inadequate, injured or abused.
So many people live under the weight of shame without realizing it because we’ve been conditioned by culture and life experience to accept that feeling as normal.

Shame is simply always there; it’s that familiar yet profound feeling that we don’t measure up.
• Maybe you regularly view life through the lens of other people’s expectations (real or imagined), and you’re beginning to buckle under the pressure.
• Perhaps a friend betrayed you, one of your parents was emotionally or physically absent, or your loved one has a secret addiction, and you think it’s all somehow your fault.
• Maybe you’re stressed about your children and how you handle things at home.
The voice in your head says, I’m not a very good mothe/fatherr. Maybe you feel like a failure because life got hard, and now your dreams seem out of reach, or you just don’t know who you are anymore.
Maybe you go through life with ever-present feelings of inadequacy; you worry what other people would think if they knew the real you. Shame lurks in all of these things.
In spite of the overwhelming nature of shame, there is good news. The promise of Scripture is that when we look to God, He transforms our shame into something beautiful — a sparkling, splendorous joy.
It may take time, and there may always be moments in life when we experience shame, but when our identity is centered in Christ not only knowing who we are in Christ, but knowing who He is in us — we can discard the dark covering of shame and rise in radiance. In other words, we may have shame, but in Jesus, shame no longer has us.
Whether you’re simply having a “not enough” moment, or you’ve been hiding in shame for years, have hope. You can overcome shame, because your Overcomer(Jesus at the Cross) already has for YOU!

1 Peter 2:6, “For in Scripture it says: ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’”
Dear heavenly Father, I praise You because You not only remove my shame, You faithfully transform it into something beautiful and new. And while I don’t fully understand it, I know You have the power to help me overcome shame because You’ve already done so on the cross. Open my heart to experience Your love and mercy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Freedom From Bitterness

By Bob / December 3, 2023

Self-centered pride latches to our hearts as we might refuse the forgiveness of God and others.

This can cause us to live in self-pity. Saying to ourselves …”I deserve it”.. “God’s trying to punish me”.. “I shouldn’t have done this or that”

The Bible says, “Watch out for such bitterness!”

“See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”  Hebrews 12:15

In life the opportunity to harbor bitterness for a wrong suffered is great. We are given plenty of opportunities to grow bitter from relationships that bring hurt and pain.

Nothing hardens the heart more than love which has turned to bitterness. God specifically commands that we not become bitter.

The writer of the Hebrews passage above admonishes us not to miss the grace of God so that we won’t take up bitterness as a response to life’s pain.

* God cautions us against this because he knows that a bitter root grows and grows until it eventually defiles many others through a wake of bitterness.

If bitterness is allowed to take root, we become imprisoned to it.

*God’s grace will no longer have as great an effect in our lives.

*We become ineffective, insensitive, and spiritually dead.

*We can even become physically ill from it.

**God does not live in bitterness.  God lives in grace. He has provided grace for every person to walk in.

The grace of God is God blessing, healing, delivering and prospering you because of Jesus.

*The grace of God is His unearned, unmerited and undeserved favor toward you simply because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross.

*Because God’s grace is based on Jesus’ work and not yours, the only way you fall from this grace is by believing that you can earn, merit and deserve it through your obedience and good works.

*Grace is the absolutely free gift!
* Law says this “I must do it.”
*Grace is this “God will help me.”

1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
You have to have a forgiving heart before you can be at peace with yourself.

Lord, Thank You for the Freedom From Bitterness!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

Meek or Weak

By Bob / December 1, 2023

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5 NIV).

If you want to make healthy choices to be well and whole again, you have to learn to be meek. Matthew 5:5 says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (NIV).

The Bible lists many benefits of meekness: The meek will be satisfied (Psalm 22:26); God will guide them (Psalm 25:9); they will become wise (Proverbs 11:2); they will be filled with fresh joy (Isaiah 29:19).

There are many, many others. The problem is, we misunderstand this term. None of us really know what meekness is. In fact we often confuse it with another term that sounds like it — “meek” sounds like “weak.” Nobody wants to be weak, so nobody wants to be meek.

But the truth is meekness and weakness are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Meekness is in no way weakness. In fact, the Greek word for meekness literally means “strength under control.” To be meek is not to be weak. It’s used to describe a wild stallion that has been tamed. That stallion still has all the strength it had when it was wild, but now its strength is under control. It is strength bottled up for the master’s use.

God doesn’t want you to be weak, but he does want you to be meek. The Bible teaches that it’s one of the keys to stress reduction in your life.

Here’s a simple definition of the word meek: Let go, and let God.

That is the essence of meekness. It is surrendering, submitting, and agreeing to what God wants to do in your life. It’s letting God be God in your life. Let go, and let God.

I don’t know a phrase that will do more for your health physically or emotionally than this phrase. If you’ll begin to practice it in your life, it will relieve stress and eliminate worry. If you’ll let go and let God, it will defuse anger and end your hurt and resentment. Amen

OVER COMING TEMPTATIONS

By Bob / November 30, 2023

FOR US TO BE VICTORIOUS WE NEED.

1.  Our faith is our greatest weapon against the devil. 2cor 5:7

2.  Know the word.  We fight battles in the kingdom is to know the word.  Know more than the devil.  The devil works by deception in the word (read  Hosea 4:6). This is what led to the fall of Adam and Eve.

3.  Realize the power in you.  Luke 10:19, John 1:12, 1John 4:4

4. CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON ALL THAT IS GOOD

Mark 14:38 “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”

Temptation is linked directly to what we think upon (Heb. 11:15).
*Temptation has to be entered into.

We can avoid temptation by avoiding thoughts that generate temptation (Prov. 23:7).

Since it is impossible to not think, we cannot just try to reject the negative thoughts in this world,  BUT we must CHOOSE to think on the positive truths of God.
This is where prayer comes in.

In prayer, we have our minds stayed upon God and therefore, are not receptive to thoughts that conceive temptation.

Temptation or sin must be conceived (Jas. 1:14-15).

In the physical realm, the easiest way to avoid an unwanted birth is to avoid conception, so it is in the spiritual world.

It is easier to avoid being tempted by being in constant communion with God, than it is to overcome temptation once it has been conceived.

Paul admonishes the Philippians believers to reflect and meditate upon eight positive principles of thinking that will lead to a victorious Christian life.

Phil. 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

*Recognizing God’s hand in even the smallest things will bring peace and keep our hearts and minds following hard after the Lord.

Lord, I confess to You that my thoughts are not always pure. I have allowed the world and outside influences to pollute the mind that should be set on You.   Right now, I choose against my old ways of thinking and invite the Holy Spirit to stand guard over my mind. I commit to fill my heart and mind with Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.     READ ROMANS 12: 1-3 ON RENEWING THE MIND!

TRUE FREEDOM

By Bob / November 25, 2023

John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
*If we take the Bible to be true and believe that it is truly God’s word, then we should also believe that the only way to get to God is through Jesus Himself.
***Christ alone is the way of salvation.
Trusting God is relying upon His ability to accomplish His Will no matter how we feel, what we think, or how bad the circumstances may appear.
Hold on to truth. God’s truth. It will keep you, protect you & hide you from the grasp of the enemy.

John 13:35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
** This is Love IN Action!
*Love is Truth and Grace all in one. God is Love!
According to Jesus, true freedom comes from knowing and believing the truth (John 8:32). Which means we must believe Him, because He is the truth(John 16:6).
And that means we need to trust Him with all our heart and “not lean on [our] own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

That, in a nutshell, is the life of faith.
And the life of faith is a fight (1 Timothy 6:12) because right thinking is very hard.
The Holy Spirit’s purpose is to glorify Jesus. If your life, decisions, choices, etc glorify Jesus you are living in step with the Holy Spirit. (See Acts 12:23 and see what happens if we try take the glory ourselves)
*The apostles were beaten for speaking about Jesus. They rejoiced because they were counted worthy to suffer for Jesus.
*Stephen spoke the truth and was stoned for it. He even asked God to forgive the people who were killing him with his last words.

*Paul and Silas spoke the truth and were stripped, beaten and thrown into prison. They endured all of his and yet sang hymns and prayed while they had their feet clamped in stocks.

Don’t be ashamed of the Name of Jesus.

  • Speak the truth in love.
  • Share the sufferings of the men and women of God.
  • Share the fate of those who have endured to the end throughout history.

Father God, please bring to mind those I have not forgiven, those who I harbor resentment toward. I pray Lord that I will resemble Christ more and more each day. That as I go through life here that I don’t let myself become bitter or angry by holding onto resentment. In Jesus name Amen.

EVER FEEL LIKE A FAILURE?

By Bob / November 16, 2023

Two wonderful absolutes.

1. The first absolute: GOD REALLY LOVES ME.
*God is not in the business of condemning His children, failures or not. He is a loving Father, wanting only to lift us out of our weaknesses.
*Sometimes we recognize His great love only when we hit bottom. You will have won a great victory if you can be convinced God loves you even in your wounded, crippled condition.
*Our strength is renewed by His everlasting love.
*Just rest in that wonderful love. Don’t panic. Deliverance will come.

2. The second absolute: IT IS MY FAITH THAT PLEASES HIM THE MOST!
“Without faith, it is impossible to please him” (Hebrews 11:6).
*God counts our trust as righteousness.  “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness”. (Romans 4:3).

**God sends us to conquer nations but the first battle we have to win is the one against ourselves.
*That’s when we get to know him and we build the foundations of our relationship with him!   (JN 17:3)

Men often use God to achieve fortune, fame, honor and respect.
*Talent, personality and cleverness are used to advance God’s kingdom, but He is not impressed.
*His strength is perfected in our weakness, our inability to obey His
commandments in our own strength.

*God calls us to a life of holiness and separation.
*God tells us we can be free from the bondage of sin.
*God’s Word comes to us with some impossible challenges:
-“Resist the devil.
-Walk in the Spirit.
-Come out from among them.
-Love your enemies.
-Leave behind all your fears.
-Put down your lustful desires.
-Let no sin have dominion over you.”

God comes with such a comforting message:

-“Lay down your weapons.
-Quit trying to be so self–sufficient and strong.
-I am your weapon and your strength.
-Let Me do what you never can do.
-I will give you My righteousness,
-I will give you My holiness, My rest, My strength.
-You cannot save yourself or please Me in any way other than by receiving the blessings of the cross by faith.
Let Me be in charge of your growth in holiness.”

Prayers
* Father take over the battle of my life and let your enemies be scattered in Jesus name Isaiah 41:14-16
* Father as we are gathered here, let your healing power flow to us in Jesus name. Luke
5:17
* I command every gate standing before me to be lifted up that the king of glory may come into my life. Psalm 24:7
* I have the Key of David… Father open to us doors of promotion, favour, opportunity, breakthroughs, healing, Fruitfulness, prosperity And close the doors of sickness, accidents, death, shame, failure, poverty, diseases, sorrow
*God, Your Word speaks hope and life to me. So I give You the praise, the honor, and the glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Are We Broken?

By Bob / November 7, 2023

“The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength.” – 1 Samuel 2:4

There is an oxymoron throughout the Bible. It says that brokenness is strength.

How can this be? How can brokenness be strength?

In order to use men and women to their fullest extent, the Lord has to break His servants so that they might have a new kind of strength that is not human in origin. It is strength in spirit that is born only through brokenness.

  • Paul was broken on the Damascus road.
  • Peter was broken after Jesus was taken prisoner.
  • Jacob was broken at Peniel.
  • David was broken after his sin with Bathsheba.
  • The list could go on of those the Lord had to break in different ways before they could be used in the Kingdom.

When we are broken, we see the frailty of human strength and come to grips with the reality that we can do nothing in our own strength.

Then, new strength emerges that God uses mightily. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Do not fear brokenness, for it may be the missing ingredient to a life that emerges with a new kind of strength and experience not known before.

Pray for a broken and contrite heart that God can bless.

Psalms 139: 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.   Amen

THE LORD IS READY TO FORGIVE

By Bob / October 31, 2023

Many believers become so overwhelmed by their failures that over time they feel trapped beyond any help.

Isaiah wrote of such believers, “O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted” (Isaiah 54:11).

Some eventually get mad at God.

They grow tired of waiting for Him to move and they cry accusingly, “Lord, where were You when I needed You? I cried out for deliverance, but You never answered. I’ve done everything I know how to do, yet I’m still not free. I’m tired of repenting and crying, without ever seeing any change.”

**Many such believers simply give up trying and give themselves over to their lust.

**Others fall into a fog of spiritual apathy.

They are convinced that God does not care about them anymore. They tell themselves, *“My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God” (Isaiah 40:27).

* “The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me” (Isaiah 49:14).

Still others end up focusing all their attention on their sin, trying to keep themselves in a constant state of conviction.

This only causes them to be bewildered, crying, “If . . . our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?” (Ezekiel 33:10).

*The fact is,  feeling conviction is not an end in itself.

*When we are humbled by guilt and sorrow over our sin, we are not supposed to rest in those feelings.

*They are meant to drive us to the end of ourselvesand to the victory of the cross.

After all his weeping and crying out to the Lord, David ended up testifying,
*“But there is forgiveness with thee” (Psalm 130:4). The Holy Spirit began to flood his soul with memories of God’s mercies and he recalled all he had learned of the Father’s forgiving, pardoning nature.  (the renewing of his mind: Ro. 12:2-3)
*God is patiently waiting for us to run to Him and embrace forgiveness.  It is our choice to run to Him.

*If I am not grateful and I forget His wonders in my life pride and an ungrateful heart and attitude will shape my life.
Soon David was rejoicing, reminding himself, “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee” (Psalm 86:5).

*The key point here is we still must call on God.  It does no good for God to be loving and forgiving if we just wait for it to be handed to us. We must cry out to God.

Lord, Great is Your steadfast Love and today I pray Psalm 86………………Amen

DOES ANYBODY CARE

By Bob / October 29, 2023

God’s Love for us is the same yesterday, today and forever.

“…you who have been borne by Me from birth, and have been carried from the womb; even to your old age, I shall be the same, and even to your graying years…I shall carry you…” Isaiah 46:3-4
Don’t lose hope. You might be hurting now, but out of every disaster, God can bring a new beginning. Believe in God, and watch Him show His glory in your life.

When you read the story of the death of Lazarus (John 11:1-45), you have to ask the question, “Why did Jesus delay in coming to see Lazarus?”

After all, Jesus had gotten word two days earlier that Lazarus was deathly ill. Why did he wait for two days to go see him? Did he not care?

Yes, Jesus cared. The Bible says he loved Lazarus. Then why did Jesus delay?
There are times when we pray and God doesn’t come through the way we expect him to come through. The healing doesn’t come. The answers don’t come. We cry, we pray, the tears flow, and we wonder, does God care about me?

Yes, he does!  The same one who wept at the grave of Lazarus weeps for you.   Jesus tears represent his sympathy to us as our Savior and High Priest.
***And not only that, Jesus went to the cross for you and me. He died for your sins. He’s prepared a place in heaven for you. What more could he have done to show his love and care for you and me?

In God’s own time and His own way, God will make a way when there seems to be no way. Whether you’re well or whether you’re sick… whether the answer comes as we expect it or not.

No matter how long you wait, GOD is never late.

There are 3 reasons God waits:

1. God is glorified.

*John 11:3 -it’s for the glory of God
– you can always pray,”God, be glorified in this.”

2. Faith is fortified.
*John 11: 26- Do you believe?
– God wants to use your trial to lead to more trust in Him.

3. Ministry is multiplied.  “Testimonies” for what God has done!

God, My heart is overflowing with the truth and wisdom you have placed there today! And with such massive love and gratitude for Your compassion and love and healing! Thank you for taking the sadness and replacing it with joy! May I glorify you each day above All else. Amen!

SET FREE

By Bob / October 7, 2023

One thing will give you the victory: Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

**And faith is being satisfied in all that God is for us in Jesus Christ. (see Hebrews 11 the Faith Chapter)

John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that God’s Word was given to us “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
*That is God’s method of pruning us, and He doesn’t need the devil’s help.

*His word will make us “perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Joy changes everything, including our battle against evil.
One thing will give you the victory: Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

**And faith is a being satisfied in all that God is for us in Jesus Christ.
* You’ve got to stoke that engine every morning so that the evils that are clawing at you loose its fangs.

You can’t have me, I’ve seen Jesus this morning.

*Lust, you can’t have me.
*Greed, you can’t have me.
*Fear of man, you can’t have me.

*Bitterness and anger, you can’t have me.
Yes—I’ve seen Jesus this morning.

The battle against evil is transformed by the way you think.

Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Lord, I know I cannot progress spiritually as long as I hang on to bitterness and offenses of the past. I realize through Your word  and experiences that when I refuse to let go of the past, I am sowing seeds of separation.  Lord, I Choose today to forgive and release those who have hurt me.  Thank You for Faith—Faith in You Jesus!   Thank You for Freedom!Amen

God Promises

By Bob / October 6, 2023

Psalm 119:140  Your promises [O God] have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.

What a beautiful truth, God’s promises have been thoroughly tested. They are not just theories, they are not just abstract theology, they are something that stand the test of life and circumstances. I want to give my personal testimony in line with that.

There’s a promise of God that meets each need that arises in our lives and those promises stand the test, they really work.

Don’t be discouraged if people have let you down, don’t become embittered or resentful, because that won’t help you, but turn your eyes to God. Focus on His faithfulness, concentrate on His promises and you’ll find that thy have been tested and tried.  Below are a couple of the thousands in the Bible.

Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  Galatians 5:16

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1

AMEN AMEN Thank you Jesus for the promises we can know as absolute Truth because they come from YOU.

A HARD HEART

By Bob / September 30, 2023

Jesus was first and foremost a “servant”, and God has called each one of us to follow His example.

“Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:9-10

The world is shouting to us, “You can show us a miracle!

* It isn’t the Red Sea opening up that impresses us.
* It’s not seeing the blind given sight or the lame healed.
** It’s that you can look at the darkest hour of your life, a situation that’s hopeless to all human reasoning, and yet smile with joy, singing praises to God.
**That’s the miracle we want to see.”

Mark 6:52, “For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.”

Most of the time, we think of a person with a hard heart as being someone who is in terrible rebellion to God.
*While it is true that a rebellious person does have a hardened heart, in this instance, the Word is referring to the disciples’ hearts being hardened.

The word “hardened”
as used here, means “to make calloused, unyielding or cold in spirit, or insensitive to.”

The disciples were not God haters, but rather they had become so sensitive to the natural world and its limitations that they were overwhelmed to see Jesus supersede these laws.
*Therefore, they had a hardened heart.

If they had kept in mind the miracle they had just seen Jesus perform (the feeding of the five thousand), then they wouldn’t have been amazed to see Jesus walking on the water toward them.

Many of us are more sensitive to fear and doubt than we are to the truths of God’s Word.

This is because we have thought more on things that minister fear and doubt.

When our hearts are hardened we don’t realize the goodness of God and how powerful He is.

Romans 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Isaiah 26:3  You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Jesus, You are the only Way, Truth and Life. So I ask, “what “truth” is being suppressed”?  Yes- Reality, as defined by God.  Thank You Jesus. Amen
