Maturity in Christ

By Bob / January 30, 2012

God’s Love is the most powerful force in all the universe.
* “Flood waters can’t drown love, torrents of rain can’t put it out. Love can’t be bought, love can’t be sold-it’s not to be found in the marketplace.”
Song of Solomon 8:7
*There is no escaping true love. For if you know love, it can never be extinguished.
*God is Love. So by Loving others we are showing them God.

God’s Love is a freeing love. It allows us to release the other person from our own demands and expectations.
*  “…freely you have received, freely give.”Matthew 10:8

Maturity in Christ is not knowing a bunch of Scriptures or going to church regularly. It’s simply knowing how, moment by moment, to continually abide in God’s Love.
* “This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples-when they see the love you have for each other.” John 13:35
* We show love in the things we do and in the way we treat each other. If we in the church don’t show the love of GOD to ourselves then what example do we show the worldly people?
*I want my love for Christ to be reflected in the way I love others, especially people who are difficult to love.
*So many people see love as ‘just a feeling,’ but it’s so much more than that. True love shows itself in Action.
*Love is something that can be seen.

The moment we invite Him to take control of our lives, God comes into our hearts. And God Himself is Love.
* “God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”1 John 4:16

1 John 4: 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
The 4 Loves:
The natural human loves inspired by friendship (phileo), family (storge), or romance (eros), are awesome blessings from our Creator, but Agape is the only love essential to human survival. Only God’s Divine Love can give us the identity and purpose we need to live life to the fullest.
* “If I have not [God’s] Love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

The whole Bible is summed up by the word “love”.
*” The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love-love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God.” (1 Timothy 1:5)
*Love from a pure heart has no expectations or ulterior motives. It is not living for yourself.

The meaning of life lies in relationship. First and foremost is our relationship with God, and then our relationship with each other.
* “We love, because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips. – Proverbs 27:2
*In our business and personal life, our positioning among those who will know us should be a by-product of our life and service, not an end itself.
*What is your “position” today among your peers?

Do not be afraid!  The Lord is at work in your life to bring you to your appointed destiny in maturity.  Even when you get off track, you can trust the Lord to bring you back.  Set your Heart to pursue Him, and set your Will to never on purpose go back to the world.  You did not choose the Lord; He chose you to establish His kingdom(God’s way of doing things) where you are on the earth.  Establish His kingdom in your heart, in your relationships, where you live, where you work and where you worship.  That is the Lord’s will and purpose for you and me.

1 Peter 2:9  But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you -.
*Your Testimony!!!
*When we connect who we are with what we do then we are true witnesses.
* I need to always remember whatever I do and wherever I go– I represent God. *My life ought to reflect Him so that others will see Jesus for who he is (not a misrepresentation by showing them my sinful nature) and so they will come to know Jesus personally.

Father, continue to teach me and remind me this very truth. So often I allow my sinful nature to control me and to show up to others.  I do not want to misrepresent you–help me mature in You.   My desire is that all would see You for who You are Jesus and fall in love with You. Amen

Is Control a Problem?

By Bob / January 30, 2012

Control is at the core of that which is opposite the cross—-Self-Rule.

The Lord desires to increase our faith if we will continue to ask, trust and believe.
* “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.”
2 Timothy 2:13

“Jacob named the place Peniel (which means “face of God”), for he said, “I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared.”  The sun was rising as Jacob left Peniel, and he was limping because of the injury to his hip”  Genesis 32:30-31

*Jacob was broken to be Blessed; crippled to be Crowned!!!!
*God is the Potter and we are the clay. He will shape us according to His design for us.
When God puts us on the wheel, He begins to apply the pressure of circumstances–sometimes gently caressing the clay and often more firmly. The Potter may even have to break us and start over.

Jacob was a man who was a controller. He connived and manipulated his way to get what he wanted.
It was a generational stronghold passed down through his mother, who encouraged her son to play a trick on his father, Isaac, by pretending to be Esau.
This trick led Isaac to give the family blessing to Jacob, which meant Jacob would eventually inherit the land God had promised to Abraham’s seed.

Jacob also learned control from his uncle Laban who caused Jacob to work for 14 years to take Rachel as his lifelong mate.
One must ask which was more ugly in God’s sight, the self-centered nature and worldliness of Esau, or the control and manipulation of Jacob?

Control is a problem for men and women. As an example some women use sex to control their husbands. Many men use power and force to control their wives.
** Control is at the core of that which is opposite the cross—-self-rule. “The ME”

What delivers us from this fleshly nature of control?
*************A crisis!!!!!

* Jacob’s crisis came when he was faced with the prospect of meeting a brother who said he would kill him the next time he saw him.
* Esau had built his own clan and was about to meet Jacob and his clan in the middle of the desert. Jacob was fearful, so he retreated. There he met a messenger from God who wrestled with him.
*Jacob clung to God and refused to let go of this angel.
* It is the place where Jacob was given a painful but necessary spiritual heart transplant.
**From that point on, Jacob would walk with a limp, because God had to dislocate his hip in order to overcome Jacob’s strong will.

For believers, God often has to “dislocate our hip” through failure and disappointment.

Sometimes it is the only way He can get our attention. Our nature to control and manipulate is so strong that it takes a catastrophic event to wake us up.

Yet God did not reject Jacob for these character traits. In fact, God blessed him greatly because He saw something in Jacob that pleased Him. He saw a humble and contrite heart beneath the cold and manipulative exterior of Jacob’s life, and it was that trait that God needed to develop.
*God did this by bringing about the crisis in Jacob’s life that led to total consecration.
This event was marked by Jacob getting a new name, Israel.
* For the first time, Jacob had a nature change, not just a habit change.
* What will God have to do in our lives to gain our complete consecration to His will and purposes?
*As we cry out to the Lord repeatedly concerning our situations, we shall see Him move on our behalf.

A new day dawns! Jacob–Israel–walks on the rest of life’s journey with a limp. *Every step was a painful reminder of the transformation in his life.
* Each step was to be a step of faith and not self-reliance.
**He was broken to be blessed; crippled to be crowned.

That painful circumstance in your life, the frustrated plans, the family strife, the financial struggle, the physical sickness–it could be a host of things–pressures you have prayed and asked God to remove. You think your prayer is unanswered and the blessing has been withdrawn.  Well Maybe– It might be that your prayer is being answered in a better way and the blessing you desire is coming disguised as a burden.
**The darkest night in your life may yield to the dawn of your brightest day! It did for Jacob.

Watch for the temptations that suck you back into an old spiritual condition, particularly that of fear or obsession.  You will recognize it when it comes because you will feel restricted by it.  Refuse to allow anything to cause you to retreat emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.  Maintain your liberty.  The price has been paid for your freedom at the Cross.
* Galatians 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

The Christian faith operates through love; and the measure of one’s love is demonstrated by the extent to which one keeps Christ’s commandments. “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him” (Jn. 14:23). The Father’s love is conditional; it is based upon our obedience to His Word.

A similar hope is given to us in the sixth beatitude: “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” (Mt. 5:8). Let us therefore cry out as David did in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
After this experience with God, Jacob became lame because the Lord had touched him in his thigh.
Jacob was originally very strong-willed and independent, but from this time onwards he had to “depend on the Lord”.
This dependency upon the Lord is also seen in the Song of Solomon 8:5, “Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?” Certainly, the purpose of the wilderness is to bring us to that place of holy dependence upon our Beloved.
Also, Isaiah 33:23 is a wonderful promise to those who are so afflicted. It declares: “the lame take the prey.” This verse implies that those who have been weakened by God can win the battle and obtain the spoils.
Isaiah 33: 22 For the LORD is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.

If you feel that your far from God, pray to God and ask him to give you a new heart.
Guard your heart with; Prayer, hearing the truth and reading the Bible.

I need to learn how to repent like David but not just repent but do my very best not to repeat the same sin over and over. I need GOD to take control and for Him to help me take control of my flesh and learn not to let my flesh defeat me, but I must learn how to defeat my flesh.
Prayer Today: Read and meditate on Psalms 51….Amen

Blessing Those Who Curse You

By Bob / January 30, 2012

Blessing Those Who Curse You

No matter how we feel, what we think or how another person responds, God always has Love for that person…even when we don’t.
*  “The Lord’s loving kindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.” Lamentations 3:22

The meaning of life lies in relationship. First and foremost is our relationship with God, and then our relationship with each other.  LiFE is more then about just “ME”.
* “We love, because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
*Agape – Love is Giving
*** Love of God is what makes us known to other people. It sets us apart from non-Christians. This is our badge, our love for one another. We care and respect others and pray that they do succeed in their purpose God has called them too.
** Real Friends encouraging us to keep the word. Jesus laid down his life for his friends. Friendship based on Agape love will last forever!!   GIVING to another,(not just what’s in it for Me attitude) this is how it is recognized.

When we are motivated by Love, we are joyful in what we do.

What are giving forth, giving up and giving is what Agape is about.
**”Like” is not the same as Love.
**Action is borne out of commitment. God is relentless in his pursuit of us as his children. We have to be that relentless in our pursuit of him.
** Our actions will define our love for God by obeying his commandments.

“Leave him alone; let him curse, for the Lord has told him to. It may be that the Lord will see my distress and repay me with good for the cursing I am receiving today.” – 2 Samuel 16:11-12

As David’s enemies were increasing and he was fleeing the city from his son Absolom who was seeking to take his throne, a man named Shimei began heaving rocks and cursing him as he passed by.
Cursing the king was against the law, so David had every right to cut off the man’s head — as his generals were encouraging him to do.
Here we see the difference between Saul and David in their response to those who would seek to do them harm. **This is the defining difference between a leader who seeks to lead through a vertical dimension with God versus a horizontal fix-it mode.

God knew David as a man after His own heart. Yet, David was a murderer, adulterer, and had failed in many areas of his life. But one thing separated this leader from all the rest: He had a heart that sought to please God and be in His will. When David blew it, he repented.

What is the purpose God desires to accomplish with the estranged relationship you may have with someone?
* Has He brought this affront to find out what is in your heart today?
* Will you seek revenge and solve the problem yourself?
*Or will you find the grace to allow God to carry out vengeance in His time if it is needed?
When I learned this lesson to stay vertical with God and avoid the trap of fixing things in my own energies, it was a day of freedom. God is the Perfect Judge and no matter what— in His Kingdom, Justice is served! No longer was it my problem.
We must examine our own heart in these matters. But if we are clean, then this affront is for character building. It is the only way God builds the deepest level of character in His saints.

God actually rises up storms of conflict in relationships at times in order to accomplish that deeper work in our character.
*We cannot love our enemies in our own strength. This is graduate-level grace.
**The gospel of Jesus is the source of Christian grace, and true Christian grace is ever shaped by the message of the crucified Messiah for sinners. Look for Jesus in all the Scriptures. Be on the lookout for God’s costly grace in every book of the Bible.

God knows the stubborn human heart. He knows that if He is to accomplish His deepest work, He must take us into the desert in order to give us the privilege to be used in His Kingdom.

In the desert God changes us and removes things that hinder us. He forces us to draw deep upon His grace.

The desert is only a season in our life. *When He has accomplished what He wants in our lives in the desert, He will bring us out.
He has given us a mission to fulfill that can only be fulfilled after we have spent adequate time in preparation in the desert.
*Fear not the desert, for it is here you will hear God’s voice like never before.
* It is here you become His bride.
* It is here you will have the idols of your life removed.
* It is here you begin to experience the reality of a living God like never before.

Someone once said, “God uses enlarged trials to produce enlarged saints so He can put them in enlarged places!”

John 15:5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
***We can do nothing by ourselves, but the Lord will do nothing by Himself.

Eph. 3:20  Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
** A lack of understanding this has caused many people to miss God’s blessings.
They pray and desire God’s best, but wait on God to move independent of them.
**There are things that we must do to fulfill the righteousness of God in our lives.
*God will allow you to enjoy pleasures but your purpose will be delayed.
*Will you allow God to fulfill your purpose or will you let your vices rule?
*Stop allowing what you like to do affect your purpose in life.

* It takes great humility to recognize the call of God on your life and let Him use you.

We can see in many relationships nowadays that love is not pure. Its more about the physical feelings than of the heart. Only if JESUS is the center of any relationship can it be pure.

Let the Lord make us more like Jesus and give us a pure heart so that we will be able to love like Him. As we see in Galatians 2:20, we should die in our flesh and live like Jesus did for He lives in us.  Thank You Jesus for loving me First. Lord true surrender is hard and at times I don’t want to do it.  Please continue to  give me strength to give it all to you for Your Glory!!  In Jesus Name, Amen

God’s Love for You!

By Bob / January 30, 2012

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.(1John 4:7-10).

God’s Love is unconditional. In spite of what someone does or how wrongly they respond, His Love keeps on coming.
* “I have loved you with and everlasting love…”Jeremiah 31:3

The 4 Love’s we have!
The natural human loves inspired by friendship (phileo), family (storge), or romance (eros), are awesome blessings from our Creator, BUT Agape is the only love essential to human survival. Only God’s Divine Love can give us the Identity and Purpose we need to live life to the fullest. That’s Agape Love!
* “If I have not (God’s) Love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

Only as we seek to learn about God’s unconditional Love (Agape) will we begin to comprehend how vastly it differs from human love.
* “‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord.”
Isaiah 55:8

God’s supernatural Love is not affected by the other person’s response, nor is it dependent upon circumstances.
*”If you love someone [with God’s Love] you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. God’s love never fails.”
1 Corinthians 13:7-8 (Living Bible)

Even when you can’t love the nasty neighbor down the street…God can.
* “…for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8

God’s Love is the only solid foundation upon which human love can be built. If “feelings” have diminished or died within a relationship, only Agape can rekindle the flame.
* “…the things impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27

We cannot learn techniques or methods to love like God. Only God is Love, and we cannot learn to be what only God is.
* “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”John 15:5

Maturity in Christ is not knowing a bunch of Scriptures or going to church regularly. It’s simply knowing how, moment by moment, to continually abide in God’s Love.
*”By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”John 13:35

Is there someone you can share God’s Love with today as a result of your faith, and in spite of your feelings?
* “And if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.”
Luke 6:32

Here is how the Bible describes God’s Love:
* “God’s Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. God’s love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (Living Bible)

Faith, Hope and Love. The greatest of these is God’s Agape Love!
* “Let love be your highest goal.”
1 Corinthians 14:1

The Lord doesn’t choose the way man chooses. Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart (1 Sam. 16:7).

Agape is the divine “glue” that can bind us all together.
* “And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.”
Colossians 3:14

Even though surrounded by great corruption, we must daily choose to walk in faith, hope, and love.
*”Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report…think on these things.”
Philippians 4:8

God’s love is electric, and when we allow Him to love through us, we become “supercharged” with the radiance of His Life.
* “And it came about when…he was coming down from the mountain…Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.”Exodus 34:29

Love is not a choice. It is a commandment.
* “Now as to the love of the brethren…you yourselves are taught by God to love one another…”
1 Thessalonians 4:9

Fruit is something we can easily see. The evidence of Godly fruit is not found in word, deed, talent, success or accomplishment, but rather in the humble qualities of:
“…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” Galatians 5:22-23

It’s extremely important not to judge a person by what they say or do. God is the only One who truly knows the human heart, so He is the only righteous judge.
* “…for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7

Let’s be brave enough to share our own experiences of being downcast and wounded. Don’t be afraid. God commands us to love, and anytime we love…we become vulnerable.
* “…so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”2 Corinthians 1:4

Imagine what the Church would be like if every believer chose to follow Christ’s simple command:
* “And just as you want people to treat you, treat them in the same way.”
Luke 6:31

God’s kind of love is not self-serving or self-seeking. Agape love will cause a person to lay down his life for another (Jn. 15:13), because he has literally forgotten himself.

Many times when heros are asked why they put themselves in jeopardy to save someone else, they reply that they didn’t even think about themselves. All they thought of was the danger to the other person. That’s God’s kind of love.

God’s type of love involves emotions many times, but it is not an emotion. It is an ACT of the will.
We can choose to love even when we don’t feel like it and we can always conduct ourselves in a godly manner, when we feel God’s kind of love. God’s kind of love is a choice.

God’s kind of love is also the antidote to selfishness and pride. We cannot conquer self by focusing on self.
* The only way to win over self is to fall in love with God more than with ourself. It is in discovering God’s love that we lose self love.

Jesus didn’t feel some emotional sensation when He chose to die for us, but that was the greatest demonstration of God’s kind of love that the world has ever seen. He made a choice in spite of His emotions. Because He was consumed with God’s love, He acted properly, even when His emotions didn’t agree.

Jesus is the ultimate example of God’s kind of love.

As Jesus leads and guides you today, ask Him to show you someone who needs an extra special blessing that you can fulfill.
* “And do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. But the greatest among you shall be your servant.” Matthew 23:12

The moment we invite Him to take control of our lives, God comes into our hearts. And God Himself is Love.
* “God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”1 John 4:16

John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. 18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him….
* Christ didn’t come to make you feel guilty but to save you because He loves you!!
-Romans 1:16- I am not ashamed of the gospel because it the power of salvation to all who believe.
Psalms 109:26 Help me, OLORD my God! Save me because of your unfailing love.
1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.
Today’s focus has been all about Love. My desire is for God to remove everything that does not please Him and replace it with more of His Love. We can not give love away to others till our own personal cup is full and overflowing with God’s Love in us!
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus into this earth so that I can be free. Thank You for opening the door to eternal life. I accept the sacrifice Jesus paid on that Cross so that I can be free. Come into my heart. I confess that You are my Lord and Savior in Jesus’ name. Amen.
May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.( Eph. 6:24)

Does Time Heal the Pain?

By Bob / January 22, 2012

*You know you are healed, when you can Thank God for the pains of the Past!
…”Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” (Luke 7:50).
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 30:17)

God’s Love is dependent only upon God, who is eternally faithful, trustworthy and reliable.
* “For I, the Lord, do not change…”
Malachi 3:6

May we strive for excellence in all that we do for the Master of the universe.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving (Colossians 3:23-24).

When was the last time you sat and wrote out a plan and revisited your vision? (Read Habakkuk 2:1-3).
The Enemy focuses us on what we can’t do instead of focusing us on what we CAN do.

Time heals nothing.
** It is what YOU DO with the TIME that matters.
*****You know you are healed, when you can Thank God for the pains of the Past!  God is so patient with us and keeps His promises.  (2 Peter 3:9).

Proverbs 1:33 But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Don’t wait until the time is just right to take the first step toward achieving your goals.
**The time will never be just right. Make the resolution to start where you are now and go for what matters most in your life as you stive to move forward.  Where you end up one year from now IS up to YOU!
We have explosive power inside of us. It’s time to revert back to the power inside of you for excitement in your life. (John 15:9-15 Joy is available).

Act like who you are. YOU are the child of a king. You are His Masterpiece! It’s a matter of time to come out of the pits, bushes, or wherever you are and fight. Fight the good fight of faith. We are God’s workmanship. We are his pottery.
Allow Jesus to mold us. We were created for good works so its time to dream big. Be excited about your future.  God has plans for you for His Glory! (Jer. 29:11).
2 Peter 1:4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

The meaning of life lies in relationship!!
*First and foremost is our relationship with God,
* and then our relationship with each other.
*We each have these relationships, most likely one more than the other, But let’s get a Balance of the Two for God’s Glory!
* “We love, because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19

When we come to KNOW the Lord we will begin to see that He wants us to truly love our neighbor just as we love ourselves.
Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, “The most important is: ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

The 4 Love’s we have!
The natural human loves inspired by friendship (phileo), family (storge), or romance (eros), are awesome blessings from our Creator, BUT Agape is the only love essential to human survival. Only God’s Divine Love can give us the Identity and Purpose we need to live life to the fullest.
* “If I have not (God’s) Love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all” (Mark 9:35).
*  What Jesus did do was to tell them the true way to greatness.
**“It is NOT by seeking to be first,” He said.
**It is by a willingness to be last.
** It is not by getting people to serve you; it is by becoming a servant of all.

There are two kinds of ambition. There is the ambition to be approved and applauded by people, and the ambition to be approved and applauded by God.

There are those who want to gain fame and attention and influence and power. The measurement of the ambition to be great before people is always “How many serve me? How much power do I exercise over others? How wide is the extent of my influence?”
* Who of us has not suffered many times from this desire to be known, to be admired, to be considered great?

But Jesus points out that true greatness is never found there. The measure of true greatness is:
***How many do I serve? How many can I help?” This is the mark of greatness in the eyes of God.
Christianity is a radical faith! It is exactly the opposite of the natural instincts of the heart.
Our natural inclinations will get us deeper and deeper into trouble. Though we may achieve a form of greatness in the eyes of people, it will turn into cobwebs and ashes in our hands.

Lord, Teach me the meaning of Your words in the depths of my heart. Help me to strive for that greatness that will shine throughout eternity.  Help us Lord this day to see ones in need, be it loneliness, depression, fear, cancer, unforgiveness, guilt or shame and come along side them and show them Your Love.  Help us be examples to show that, Christianity does not produce a changed life but an exchanged life. Like Jesus, grow in your wisdom and understanding of who we now are in Christ.
We know we are healed, when we can Thank God for the pains of the Past! Lord, help us share Our Testimony of what You, Jesus have done for US.

Any Pain or Regrets?

By Bob / January 22, 2012

*When we stay in the past we become stuck and unable to move forward.

Learn this one secret in life and success will find you … keep moving forward.

If you keep doing what you’re doing now, where do you see yourself in one year?
You’ll make progress in some areas of your life but are they the areas that you care most about?
Are they the areas that mean the most to you?
Most of us would love to move forward in certain areas of our life but let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes we are so used to thinking a certain way that we can’t seem to make a first definite step, even though we know deep down in our hearts that it’s the right thing to do.

You can miss your life striving for some day.
*Don’t stop making plans and goals. *Don’t give up dreaming and thinking of what could be.
*These are important and give direction and depth to our futures but while you are dreaming and planning FIND Christ in the Center of it All.

Why Life can be difficult:
I think it is because of the choices we have to make, and this makes for a difficult life if we make the wrong choice.
*If we gave more thought to the choices we make– life would be a lot less difficult.  Pray and listen to God’s word before we make choices.

James 3:2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
*Train yourself–Begin by making the Choice to practice good habits.

Why Change the tongue First?
* your mouth measures your maturity
* your mouth reveals your heart
* your mouth sets the stage for your failure or your success.
*Our words reflect our character
*Our words have the power to direct and destroy lives
*Our words affect how the world views God.

Life can hit hard. Sometimes you get knocked down when you don’t even see it coming.
Some are cheap shots, some are glancing blows and some can bring you to your knees.
When this happens, it’s not about how hard you get hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, BUT still find the strength to keep moving forward.
* It’s about having the will to continue in spite of the obstacles.

Only God’s Love will wipe away our divisions and our discords. Only His Love will unite us together as One.
* “To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father…”Revelation 1:5-6

In life we go through challenges, circumstances, traumatic events. Although we are immune from the tragedies of the past, we are not immume from the memory of the pain. The scars may have healed completely; there may be no visible trace of the hurt; BUT deep within the recesses of our mind there remains an imprint, a memory, a rememberance of the hurt we have experienced.
Isaiah 43:18 “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new…..”

Irrespective of what you’ve been through, you may have suffered incredible humiliation and rejection. You may have memorials of pain – people, places, things you see that trigger a rememberance of pain.
Thats alright, Let Go and now let God! Let  2012  be so good, so awesome, so magnificent, let it be the year of the rejoicing of your heart. Then you will find it difficult to remember the pain that has followed you your whole life.
*You will experience the goodness of God, His goodness and mercy shall follow you this year!
***You know you are healed, when you can Thank God for the pains of the Past!
**** Give yourself the gift of forgiveness and keep moving forward.

Forget Regret:  Leave your mistakes and regret in the past.
* They don’t define Your Value, then or now.
*When you stay in the past you become stuck and unable to move forward.
We ALL have made mistakes with our job choices, friends and relationships. *The consequences can hit us pretty hard. However, to begin learning how to put these experiences behind us – by letting them go, we can begin to live in the here and now and heal.
*The only way to get control of your heart is to let Jesus have control of your life.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
*The ultimate purpose of the Bible is to change our lives. It Changes our conviction, conduct, and character. We want to be more like Christ.

David had learned that communicating with the living God is the ONLY sure way of victory.
*His skill was not enough. He had to have God’s blessing.

We must be in such relationship with God that we are constantly inquiring of His mind on every matter.
When we do this, we can expect the same results that David achieved-success in our endeavor and recognition by God.

Jeremiah 29: 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
*We can spend time in prayer and have scripture memorized, but our outward actions must be evidence of our inward transformation.

We must pray according to His Word AND act according to His Word.
Press through present chaos into the peace that is greater than your understanding.  Quiet your soul and be done with the anxiety that comes with uncertainty.
Ephesians 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.

Father, thank You for Your promise to give me a future and a hope! Please give me the strength and wisdom to live according to Your Word, to proclaim the name of Jesus through word and deed.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Have Failures or Trials?

By Bob / January 22, 2012

Learn from you Failures & Trials!

Failing does not make us failures. It makes us experienced!!!

Proverbs 19:2 Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.
* A good reminder that passion does not equal wisdom or knowledge. We have to make sure our passion is directed in the right direction.
*Let’s remember to Pray first and Ask for Godly Wisdom before jumping into new activities.
* As the Holy Spirit does His work in us, we learn to walk with God. We learn what it means to see our work as “His work” and we desire to do it “His way”.

Matthew 22:29 Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.
**One of our biggest Failures—- is not to understand the power of God.

Proberbs 17:3 Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the LORD tests the heart.
*We need to withstand the heat while being transformed into something of even greater value.
*Because God loves us, and sees us as valuable to Him, He allows us to go through trials.
If God did not love us, He would not bother with trials because He does not care weather we become better, stronger, more holy….
*The trials of the Lord are seldom enjoyable – but the lesson learned is invaluable, if wisely and patiently endured .
*The theme of scripture is Glory out of trials, pain & suffering. Because God loves us He considers our state, and He is moved because out of love He is driven to see us become what His Son, JESUS has made possible.

James 1:3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

Know that God is up to something.
1. God has a perfect plan for you.
2. God’s plan is always moving forward.
3. God’s is constructive and not destructive.
*How do you know God has a plan for YOU? The answer is –YOU are still here.
*Some things in life you can’t get unless you get down on your knees.
Romans 2:4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he(David) became their leader….
1 Samuel 22:2
*Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks at the inward- the heart!

Learn from Failure
Learning from failure and having regret are two separate things.
* Regret is an emotion; a feeling of disappointment along with a modest amount of shame or guilt.
* But to look back at a circumstance and figure out what went wrong gives you some very important information.
This review allows you to evaluate what worked and what didn’t, and more importantly, why.

Often when you are removed from a situation, you can look at it more objectively which will allow you to make better choices to keep moving forward.

Ask for Help!!!!!!You are not alone!!!!
It may feel that way sometimes, but there are many people who would extend their hand and lift you up if asked. Tap into Experience of the Faithful!
* Often times we are afraid to ask because we don’t believe we are worthy to receive the help.
*** Think about this: we are surrounded by millions and millions of people by design – for a purpose. Some have had the personal experience you need.
** A hand to grasp, a shoulder to cling, and a face to radiate hope can help you to keep moving forward.

Joshua 1:9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Think about all the miracles God has performed for you? They haven’t produced in you much faith to help you in your present trouble!
I believe the greatest lasting sign or wonder to the world in these last days is not a person who has been raised from the dead. No,(even though Great)  what truly makes an impact on the mind and spirit of the ungodly is the Christian who endures all trials, failures,  storms, pain and suffering Daily with a confident faith. People want some of that!!!
Such a believer emerges from his troubles stronger in character, stronger in faith, stronger in Christ—Knowing Jesus is in control!

Ephesians 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.

God often uses failure to make us useful. When Jesus called the disciples, He did not go out and find the most qualified and successful people. He found the most Willing. He found a fisherman, a tax collector, and a farmer.
*The Hebrews knew that failure was a part of maturing in God.
*The Greeks used failure as a reason for disqualification. Sadly, in the Church, we often treat one another in this way.

This is not God’s way.
*** We need to understand that Failing does not make us failures. It makes us experienced.
***Failure makes us more prepared to be useful in God’s Kingdom — if we have learned from it.  Use them to help others.  And that is the most important ingredient for what God wants in His children.
Deuteronomy 31:8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Father, thank You for Jesus’ courage, which dared to challenge human traditions. Grant that I may see myself and others as You see us–sick people in need of a physician.   Lord–I am encouraged that You are always with me. Whom shall I fear with You with me. How can I fail as long as I follow your way. Thank You for All Your promises.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Amen

Know You are Worthy

By Bob / January 22, 2012

Remember, it is worth nothing if you gain the whole world and lose your own soul (Mt. 16:26). Make today count for God.
Psalms 42:11 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
*I believe David was asking this question because he came to the realization that “Hey! I don’t have to live in this pit.
* I am chosen by God. He will deliver me. He will not forsake me. He is my refuge and fortress!
*I don’t need to wallow in self-pity. God is on my side.
*I have hope. He Is my Hope!
*I can’t lose this battle!– Self, put your hope in God!!”
Sometimes when we hit a bump in the road or a pit in our journey, we look for somebody else to “give us a word”. But you need to get to a place that you can encourage yourself through Prayer and Word (Relationship with Jesus).  Give your soul a wake-up call! Put your hope in God!

God’s Love is the only solid foundation upon which human love can be built. If “feelings” have diminished or died within a relationship, only Agape can rekindle the flame.
*  “…the things impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27

Let us seek again and ask for God’s voice about what is our true purpose in this life.
I know everyone of us have a special purpose that the Lord has chosen for us to finish. Now the question, are we willing to seek that purpose and do it? Or we just do what our daily routine wants us to do?

Help Transform Lives:(5R’S)  At Times I may be down but I’m not out.  Here is a biblical way to Move Forward when down:  Release it ALL to the Lord — Resist ALL Bitterness— Reevaluate your Life— Receive help from others and totally Rely on the Lord! You have great Worth!

Believe You are Worthy
*Don’t look to the past, God is doing a “New Thing”.
*Prayer and God’s Word changes everything because it releases God’s wisdom into your circumstances.
*Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
*Hate can only be driven out by Love.

Here is how the Bible describes God’s Love: Listen to what its telling You today! Put your name in the verse(ex. Bob is Very Patient? Etc. ).
** “God’s Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. God’s love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-6.

Sometimes we are so used to thinking a certain way that we can’t seem to make a first definite step, even though we know deep down in our hearts that it’s the right thing to do.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you”-[this is] the Lord’s declaration-“plans for [your] welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Whatever your goal, your dream, or your desire, you are worthy of achieving it.  YES That means you too!
The closer you get to it is when the enemy of your soul will begin putting doubt in your mind by playing the self-limiting tapes that say you are not worthy.
Replace these old tapes with a newer one that contains the Truth – You ARE worthy to have your heart’s true desire and to keep moving forward.
Romans 12: 2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

Take 100% Responsibility
Except in rare and unfortunate circumstances, YOU are responsible for the quality and condition of your life. Your career, your relationships and your happiness are all under your direct control.
Sometimes we choose to do nothing when we get hit hard because it’s just easier and less painful that way.
But the “Real Pain” is only deferred. You have to live with yourself. You have to live with the voice in your gut, your inner wisdom, that says you gave up too soon or didn’t try hard enough.
* When you hear this inner voice speaking to you, it’s usually right. It’s your choice, then, to get up and keep moving forward.

Living for a Cause Greater than Yourself
We cannot learn techniques or methods to love like God. Only God is Love!!
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Has God allowed a crisis in your life? God often raises leaders and begins movements as a result of a personal crisis in a person’s life.
*God raises up leaders to take on causes that are much greater than themselves.
“Come and follow Me.  Follow me”, Jesus says, for the path of the season has been prepared even before the foundations of the earth were laid.
This path we are on has been in existence and resting in eternity and now Jesus lays it before us to be walked upon in this season.
*Let’s Walk with Jesus on this path and we will find Victory and Worth!
*Walk with Jesus on this path and we will receive the blessings.
*Walk with Jesus on this path and the healing power of the Most High shall come upon you.
* Jesus will be with you and walk with you.
* The Kingdom shall be established and your destiny will be revealed.

Joshua 1:9 Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

**What are we unwilling to sacrifice for God’s call on our lives?— Whatever it is it’s worth less than our souls.

*Troubles may come, but not designed to overcome you.
* Whatever you are passing through now, you will soon pass over.
* You are too precious in God’s eye to be mismanaged.
* God is ever ready to defend you.
*You ARE WORTHY! God’s Masterpiece!

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
*We should learn to share what we have.  “Our Testimony”. What Jesus has done for you!!  This Heals!!!

*Remove the weight (sin) that trips us up!
* We need to fix our eyes and focus ON JESUS!   Don’t let worldly things CONSUME you!

Consider the one who trusts God in the hard places: “Blessed is the man who
trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord” (Jeremiah 17: 7).
.” (Jeremiah 17: 8). When things get intense and bothersome, he will not be afraid!

This person says, “Jesus, I give up looking to any person to bring me out of my trial. You are my only hope. I look to You to bring me out of this!”
*God’s Love is dependent only upon God, who is eternally faithful, trustworthy and reliable.
* “For I, the Lord, do not change…”
Malachi 3:6

” As you know, like a father with his own children,  we encouraged, comforted, and implored each one of you to walk worthy of God, who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.” (1 Thess. 2:11-12).
God equips us for ALL that He has called us to do, —-be it raising our children, other relationships and/or ministry.  We have Worth!!!! How refreshing!!

LORD – thank you a thousand times … Thank for pursuing me when I don’t pursue you. Thank you for mercy when I fail you. Thank you for patience when I sin and thank you for your gentle discipline when I don’t deserve it. Thank you for Christ, for choosing me, for saving me and for sanctifying me. Thank you for being Your masterpiece.
Help my life to be a good example to others. Thank you for your love and my supernatural Testimony of the life change you’ve made in me.  God please help me be more humble. Remind me that things I have and I do are to make a better world but never for me. It is always and will be for Your glory. AMEN!!!!

God Knows I’m Slipping!

By Bob / January 22, 2012

The Bible says we are to love God and one another, but many Christians have little or no idea how to do that.
*  “…for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.”
Romans 7:18

Psalm 94:18-19 When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love, O LORD, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
* When I feel that things are going right God is always there and I feel His love. when I feel anxious or worried He is there to bring me joy.
* I will know that God’s love is unfailing and in him I can find joy.

One thing I’ve always loved about the picture of God that we find in the Bible is this: that God is so Understanding and Patient with each one of us.
*God knows our weaknesses.
*God knows our frailties, and He does not ask of us that which we are not able to give.
*All He asks is that we give what we have – and beyond that, His grace supplies.
The psalmist here(Psalm 94:18-19) says, “My foot is slipping.” He was in a position where he was no longer in control. He couldn’t save himself, but he says with great gratitude, “Your love, O LORD, supported me.”
How often that’s true. When we come to the place where our foot is slipping, then God reaches out in His great love and mercy and He supports us and saves us.
*Then the psalmist says that “when anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.” **Again, that’s true to experience. In times of anxiety and fear and testing, God moves in with His consolation, and in spite of all the trouble that we may be passing through, His consolation brings joy to our soul.
In fact, it often happens that the greater the opposition, the greater the trouble, the greater the problem, the more Wonderful is the experience of joy that we receive from God’s consolation.
* NOTHING can touch us without it going through Gods fingertips. He is our Light, Salvation, Comfort, and Fortress.

* “If I have not (God’s) Love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

We cannot learn techniques or methods to love like God. Only God is Love.
**”I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
*We know to live in Christ but we must learn that God is in us as well. Mutual abiding produces much fruit.
*We do not bear fruit for ourselves to eat but for others when we ABIDE in Him.
*We can do nothing without Him- but we can do ALL things through Him!

Jesus is the basis for our beliefs.  All that we are stems out of that belief.
Jesus calls us to follow Him, to learn his way, to share His Good News.
Many people are scared to put their complete Trust in something they cannot see and prove.
While these people may do many good works, they do not help further the Kingdom of God. (God’s way of doing things. Roman 14:17).
They are merely doing goods works to make themselves feel better.
Those that remain in close relationship with Jesus and are obedient will Reproduce more Christ-followers simply because people will be drawn to that which gives them strength and peace – Jesus Christ!!!!

Disciples of Christ are to bear much fruit, this to glorify the Father.

Dear God thank you for your unfailing love and the joy you bring in the toughest times. Help me to always remember that we have seasons of life and you always have a reason. I want to learn from trials in my life, help me to do that.  Lord, I want to be closer to you. I want to know You more.   I want my heart to yearn for Your Word every morning.  If I am to be effective in  ministry, I need to remain in close relationship with you.  When I do that, I am likely to hear with great clarity what the Lord has in store for me.  Jesus,  I cannot do anything of true value if I do not  grow in my relationship with You.  I will seek You daily and be obedient to Your call for my life- for Your Glory. Amen

Meaning of Life

By Bob / January 22, 2012

The meaning of life lies in relationship.

Hosea 6:6 “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
*No amount of activity for God will ever take the place of a heart that is right with Him.
I share Hosea 6:6 in a few translations, only because I wanted to see what they
said  (besides the KJV above),
* the Contemporary English version: “I’d rather for you to be faithful and to know me than to offer  sacrifices” and
* The Message version: “I’m after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know God, not go to more prayer meetings.”

What does the Lord want? Relationship!
*God wants our love and our devotion.
*God wants us to be pure and true to Him.
*God wants us to want Him like He wants us.
*God is seeking those that will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
**God wants a lasting relationship, not actions pretending to love. I feel like this kinda goes with 1 Corinthians 13 that with out love, all we have and all we do is nothing.

Hosea 4:6 You have destroyed my people by failing to acknowledge me!
Because you refuse to acknowledge me, I will reject you as my priests.
*Luke 4:4 We cannot live without Gods word.
*Psalms 119:105 the word of God shows us the right path. A light in a dark place. *John 17:17 Gods word is truth.

We by nature are self-seeking, we want what we want for ourselves, for our families those in our immediate circle.
(I am not saying that there is anything wrong with wanting the best for yourself and your family), but we have
to look outside the box we live in sometime and see the hurt and the pain of others and be willing to reach out and touch them with the love of the Father, believe it or not this is the will of God.
*Psalms 119:165 the Word of God brings peace.

Faith, Hope and Love. The greatest of these is God’s Agape Love!
* “Let love be your highest goal.”
1 Corinthians 14:1
* Draw near to God and He will Draw near to you.

The meaning of life lies in relationship!!

*First and foremost is our relationship with God,
* and then our relationship with each other.
*We may each have these relationships or one more than the other, But let’s get a Balance of the Two for God’s Glory!

* We are to cry when they cry, laugh when they laugh, rejoice when they rejoice.
* When we really settle in our hearts that we are going to do everything in our power to get to know the Lord things really begin to happen in our lives, great things wonderful, miraculous things.
*Don’t let yourself think that everything has to be just right.
*Don’t allow your mind to tell you that as soon as I get this or that right then
I can really dig in and start praying like I should or start reading my bible like
I should or set aside time to really be in the presence of the Lord like I should.

If you wait for “the right time” or if you wait for “when I get things right” you
never will. Why do I say that?
* I say that because our enemy will see to it that you will always have something to be trying to “get right”.

It truly is time to seek the Lord while He may be found and really get
to know Him and know Him well.

“Lord, I despise myself.”(Job 42:4-6)
It looks as though God has humiliated Job and brought this poor, broken-hearted man down into the dust almost cruelly.
Yet it is not cruelty, it is love—because, at this point, when Job has finally given up trying to defend and justify himself, God begins to heal and pour into this man’s life blessings he never dreamed of.

This is the story of the whole of Scripture, isn’t it? Everywhere the Scriptures seek to tell us this.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit,(Matthew 5) the men and women who are bankrupt in themselves, who stop counting on what they have to make it.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
God will begin to heal a life that repents before Him, and He will fill it with blessing and honor and glory and power.

None of the prideful things to which we cling will be worth the smallest portion of the glory and joy we have discovered in coming into a Relationship with God Himself. (To Know Him is Eternal Life…. JN. 17:3)
The Lord doesn’t choose the way man chooses. Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart (1 Sam. 16:7).

The whole Bible is summed up by the word “love”.
*”But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”
(1 Timothy 1:5)

Refuse to allow presumption to cloud your discernment.  You should never act, react, respond, or take your next step based on what you assume is truth.  If you are uncertain about an issue or circumstance, take the time to investigate and discover the facts.  Just because your conclusion seems reasonable does not make it true.  And, presumption will plunge you into the darkness of deception.  Stay in the light and truth, and maintain confidence in the word as you follow the Lord’s precepts.
* Psalms 19:13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.
*David understood that we have faults that we don’t even know about. This section of this Psalm shows that when asking for forgiveness, we should pray for those things that are hidden in our hearts.

Thank You, Father, for this penetrating look at my own heart. How proud I have been, how filled with self-justification with complaints before You. Teach me to put my hand upon my mouth and admit to You that the problem lies so often with me so that You will heal and restore me.  Father help me to put You first, again. Even ahead of the things I do for You….especially ahead of that. Help me to make time for those moments where You and I can connect. I need that more than I know. I need You more than I know. Why My Suffering?

By Bob / January 22, 2012

No matter what happens in our life God is right there with us. Faithful as he always will be, no matter where life takes you he is there holding on to you, to see you through His plan.
Never be afraid but rejoice in the fact that you have a Father in Heaven that cares for you that much to make things ok.

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,  and endurance, character, and character, hope.  And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:3-5).

I have observed people who have endured suffering and proven God to be faithful are strong, mellow and patient. *They have the gentleness of Christ.
*I love to be around such people! They encourage my spirit!

You will come through your trial and be of great help to others if you will
trust God through it! You will see it happen on your job, in your family, in
your church.
People will be attracted to you because they know what you have gone through and they have seen you Gain the Victory through the power of God alone!

Suffering Can Break Hold of Sin and Temptation!!!!!
1 Peter 4:1 So, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin,
* Jesus’ attitude delivered him through his suffering. He endured it as he submitted to the will of his Father in heaven. He gave us the model to be “done with sin.”
It doesn’t mean I’ll never sin again, but if I adopt His attitude I won’t live for my flesh, but for the will of God like Jesus did.

James 1:2 My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

*At first sight suffering may appear to have the opposite effect, bringing impatience and fretful mess. But God thereby brings unsuspected evil to the surface in order gently to skim it away…It is one of the means of keeping him (the Christian) dissatisfied with this world and sustaining his hearing for his true home in Heaven…the true value of suffering can be grasped only by suffering.
* A spectator can be widely astray in his assesment of the situation. He may sometimes be tempted to apologize for the pain God allows, only to find himself shamed by the suffferer’s inner peace and deep thankfulness.”

* What this means is that if we want the contentment and spirituality of someone like the apostle Paul [Philippains 4:10-13] then we need to be willing to lay it all on the line like he did [2 Corinithians 12:15].
There are few rewards that are offered to the halfhearted.
** Solomon recognized that there is a danger in life becoming too easy (Proverbs 30:8)
*** The writer of Psalm 119 said, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Thy word.” [Pslam 119:67].
It looks as if the suffering had been very helpful for this man to break the hold sin had on him.
Peter notes, “He who has suffed in the flesh has ceased from sin.” (1 Peter 4:1)
**** Many passages emphasize the same point that suffering for the cause of Christ can have an incredibly purifying affect on the believer: (Romans 5:3-5; 1 Peter 1:6-8; James 1:2-4).

A sad note is that many believers who suffer never learn anything from it. As a result, they never know God as their comforter or counselor.
To hear them talk, you would think God
was hard, spiteful, uncaring. They ask, “Why me?” Then they doubt God’s
love and begin to turn away from Him.

They moan, groan and murmur, and all
their joy fades. Soon they grow bitter and hard.

The apostle Paul, even in the worst hour of his sufferings, Blessed the name of
the Lord. He knew the Father was full of mercy and the Source of all his
comfort. He did not question God or become bitter; in fact, he praised Him in
the midst of it all!

The best teachers in any church are not the ones in the pulpit. Rather, they
are sitting in the pews right next to you
—people who have suffered and yet
still worship the Lord. The language of those who learn through suffering is
praise!

Power to Move Forward!!
(Hebrews 12:1-17)
Hebrews 12:7 Endure your suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?
* Surrounded by Witnesses We all need encouragement.  God is cheering us on by the stories in the Bible. If they made it through, we can too. Heb. 12:3 – consider what HE went through lest you get discouraged *keep moving forward.

* We Get Whippings (Heb. 12:5-11) Do not despise chastening of the Lord HE disciplines you because HE loves you.
*If God doesn’t whip you, you cannot move forward. Otherwise, you will never learn from your errors in judgment & actions.
*If you endure chastening, God deals with you as HIS son.
God is trying to turn you around and get you on the right path. V10 – chastened for our profit to you bring you to Holiness.
* God wants us to live Holy– HE is calling us to Holiness V11 – It is painful, but leads to righteousness Discipline trains us… God Disciplines us because HE loves us.
(verse 12-14) God empowers us to live a worship filled lifestyle. Which helps us move forward.
1John 4:10 In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 Peter 5: 6 And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand 7 by casting all your cares on him because he cares for you.

Thank You God that You love us and want the best for us. You will chastise or correct us, from time to time. It’s not always pleasant, but I know there’s a need for it. You treat us the way parents treat their children. Correcting them so that they know the way to go. You may use different methods, but the object is the same: to make sure we don’t continue to go in a direction that is harmful to us.  Thank You Jesus!
Lord today please arm me with Jesus’ attitude to fill my heart and mind. I want to be done with sin and done with satisfying my flesh. Whatever time left I have on this earth, please fill it with tough minded obedience to you. Let the attitude of the God-Man fill me today! Amen

Need & Want Wisdom?

By Bob / January 11, 2012

Wisdom is the knowledge of the nature of things, the reasons behind what happens.

How many of us can honestly say we are living the life of “spiritual abundance” God promises in His word?
* “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.”John 10:10

God created man with the need to be loved and to love. But these needs can only be fully satisfied through Divine Love (Agape) received and expressed.
*  “For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.” Psalm 107:9

Agape is the only unconditional love that exists.
* “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…”Isaiah 49:15-16

But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? Man does not comprehend its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living (Job 28:12-13).

What is this wisdom Job is talking about?
“Why does God treat Job this way?” But we have information that Job does not have. He has no knowledge of Satan’s challenge to God regarding him, and so his questioning is even deeper than ours. But we often feel this way ourselves.

Luke 7:35 But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.”

In the past year some of my friends have learned that they had a cancer that was threatening their lives. One  has also had a child go to be with the Lord to cancer.  Some have lost their business, homes, work during these times of sickness.    My heart goes out to these friends and I know their Spirit is strong.  But my heart cries out, “Why? Why do these kinds of things happen?” Sounds like Job.
***Life presents these riddles to us. And when we wonder why these things happen, WISDOM is the answer.
*** Wisdom is the knowledge of the nature of things, the reasons behind what happens.

Someone has described wisdom as the right use of knowledge.
*It is how to use situations in such a way that things work out right.
That is what we lack. We can do all kinds of things with knowledge, but we do not do the right things with it.
**Col. 2:3 In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Example: That is why knowledge of nuclear physics ends up with atom bombs that destroy and become malicious instruments of warfare.
**Humans lack wisdom. They have lots of knowledge, but they have no wisdom on how to use it.

This is what Job in his long hours of torment is searching for: What is the reason behind these things?
Job says humans do not know the way to wisdom. It is not found in the land of the living. (Job 28:12-13).
Romans 8:37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

I say unto you, truly, truly, that this is the day of recovery, so rise up with hope renewed.   Gain access into the Lord’s goodness.  For, surely He will restore that which has been stolen.  The process of restoration has come as a part of Jesus ministry.
John 14:1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.
Jesus has come to set HIS people free, and Jesus continues in the process by restoring them from time to time when it is necessary.  Receive today the power of restoration and let the spirit of the living God now invade your spiritual space; let it over take you; let it embrace you.  Let the Spirit of God draw you close to the heart of Jesus.  Regain this moment, the power of your first love; the power of His presence and your position in God’s kingdom.  Regain your position of victory for surely it is yours.
*1 John 5:4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
*Rev. 21:7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
*Proverbs 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.
*Psalms 62:1. I  wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.

You are in a time of recovering that which has been taken by the enemy.  If you will be alert and be willing to follow the Lord’s leading, He will restore all that is necessary for your spiritual well-being.  However, there are still things that are better left alone, and He will give you the proper discernment to know the difference.  Come to Me in faith with your request, says the Lord, and I will open what no man can shut, and I will shut what no man can open.
*Revelation 3:8   I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

Lord, I am humbled because I lack wisdom. Thank You for Your Word and All the Wisdom there for us to be able to come to You Jesus, with any sickness, circumstance and lay it down at the foot of the Cross and Trust You knowing You have our best interest at hand for Your Glory.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God… and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).
” But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (1 Corinthians 15:57-58).
Amen
Psalms 118:15 Songs of joy and victory are sung in the camp of the godly. The strong right arm of the LORD has done glorious things!

Is God’s plan Perfect?

By Bob / January 11, 2012

God’s plan IS perfect and best for His glory!
Genesis 22:21 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

Take now thy son . — Genesis 22:2
*God’s command is – Take now, not presently.
* I need to fully and faithfully move forward and follow the Lord right through the afflictions to come, knowing God’s plan IS Perfect and Best for His glory.
Romans 8:18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
*It is extraordinary how we debate! We know a thing is right, but we try to find excuses for not doing it at once.
*If we are to climb to the height God reveals, it can never be done later, it must be done now.
And the sacrifice must be worked through our will before we actually perform it.

“And Abraham rose up early in the morning and went unto the place of which God had told him” (v. 3). The wonderful simplicity of Abraham!
* When God spoke, he did not confer with flesh and blood.
*Beware when you want to “confer with flesh and blood”,(Gal. 1:16) i.e., your own sympathies, your own insight, anything that is not based on your personal relationship to God.
These are the things that compete with and hinder obedience to God.

Abraham did not choose what the sacrifice would be.
*Always guard against Self-Chosen Service for God; self-sacrifice may be a disease that impairs your service.
**If God has made your cup sweet, drink it with grace;
** if He has made it bitter, drink it in communion with Him.
*** If the providential order of God for you is a hard time of difficulty, go through with it, but never choose the scene of your martyrdom, as to say “I will only go to there, But no farther”.

God chose the test for Abraham, and Abraham neither delayed or protested, But he went steadily went through with obedience and faith.
If you are not living in touch with God, it is easy to Blame God or pass Judgment on God.
You must go through the trial before you have any right to pronounce a verdict, because by going through the trial you learn to know God better.
*1 Peter 1:6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.
*Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.  Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. (1 Peter 4:12-13).
*** God is working in each of us to reach His highest goals until His purpose and man’s purpose become one!

Make sure this year, especially, this day, give the right response.
Some of us will never receive the blessing God has in store for us until we are WILLING to give THE RIGHT RESPONSE!
Some of us wonder why do I keep going through the same thing over and over again!? Perhaps it may be the response we always give to the Lord???

Now, most often the request is very very difficult!!! now we may not like it, but that response is YES LORD! Practice it!!! YES LORD!!!

**God sometimes doesn’t open the other door until we walk through the first door.
*Unless we are willing to respond to God properly….we may never witness the change God has for our life!!!

God needs you and me in 2012 to be willing to properly respond to Him. The proper response is YES LORD!
He wants us to take the things that mean the most to us, our lives, our time, our treasure and offer it to HIM!!! For some of us, our money or hobbies or work is our Isaac!
* God wants to know if we are willing to sacrifice it for him!?
*When we are willing to sacrifice ALL that is precious to us, God will be at His best!
*To let go of our most prized possession; God clearly makes that easier for us when we bring it to him rather than letting it go on own before we worship him.
*Sometimes I struggle to approach God due to my Sin and idolatry, and I feel shameful trying to worship Him with all these guilty conscience.
Once again, God will reveal that I need to come to Him as who I am and allow God to direct the actions I must take. **That’s worship. Faith does not come from my beliefs or actions but true faith, which is the source from God’s grace, works within us when we “Completely Empty Ourselves” to receive God’s authority.
I pray that our faith will be determined by God’s faithfulness alone.
Romans 1:17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
*God sets it up so that His Son is the center of the process of knowing and doing what is right, making Himself the centerpiece of righteousness, Not us. **Wondering what is the right thing to do in your situation?
** Go to the creator for the Right thing to do! Read His Word the answer is there. (Try Read All of Proverbs with your question in mind and Listen).
***What we don’t realize, just as we are making our way up one side of the mountain, there’s a lamb climbing on the other side of the mountain!
We won’t run short if we would simply give God the right answer!!
Walk in faith! God WILL take good care of YOU!

1 Peter 4:19 So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.
Lord, help me to first of all trust you with the faith of Abraham then help me to be a husband, dad and grandpa who can be trusted as much as Abraham was by Isaac!  What trust he had Lord! Thank You Jesus for your word of Truth. Help me in my trials to have faith and obedience to You, knowing there’s a lamb climbing on the other side of the mountain for me as I surrender to your will- for your Glory and my Joy.   Continue to peel away the addictions of sin from me.  Thank You God, that You are working in each of us to reach Your highest goals until Your purpose and man’s purpose become one!  “…To Know YOU, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth”. Jn 17:3. In Jesus Name, Amen

What’s In Your Heart?

By Bob / January 11, 2012

God desires an intimate relationship with you.

“ You must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you. ” (Exodus 34:14).

A Relationship with God comes before any relationship with man!   So for God to be jealous shows us and teaches us that He never intended for us to get caught up in man just because He sent them to us.
*We must watch very carefully who we are putting in front of God because if not– man will become our IDOL!

Yes, it is possible for us to provoke Him to jealousy: “Do we provoke the
Lord to jealousy?” (1 Corinthians 10:22). Paul is asking: “You have testified that you love Him. You’ve even taken His name. Yet, has someone or something else stolen your heart?”

You can say you love Jesus; you can go to church every time the doors are open. But do you seek Him when your time is your own?
*Preachers search their Bibles for sermons.
* Sunday school teachers study it for
lessons.
**But why do we not turn to it for recreational reading, to be refreshed
by our Lord?
**Why don’t we open the Bible to learn of Him, to love Him?

The Bible is Jesus—God’s own Word! It is the full revelation of His heart;
Everything about Him is unmasked in the Scripture. (2 Tim. 3:16).
John 1:1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

I would think that if we truly love
Him, if we expect to spend eternity as His bride, then we would want to learn
everything possible about Him!

Our Lord yearns after us, wanting our time and attention. Yet He sees us
spending all our time on other people and other things and that makes Him
jealous!
The day is coming when His jealousy will “burn” against those who
turn to vain idols (Deuteronomy 29:20). It will burst into flames of judgment!
** One of the worst things that can happen to us, as this account makes clear, is to become caught up in a popular movement.
*False forces arise out of it. That is the whole thrust of this section.
*Mis-emphases easily spring into being—and wrongful attitudes arise readily in a popular movement.
*Popularity, therefore, ought to be watched carefully. And when a movement is popular, as Christianity is popular in many places today, we must be careful that we are listening to the voice and the Spirit of God.  The book of Jude covers this well. ( These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want. Jude 16).
Some qualifications and marks of the latter-day outpouring of the Spirit:
* A focus on the final harvest of souls.
* A spirit of grace leading to repentance and godliness.
* A spirit of supplication resulting in surrender and an urgency to pray in
the Spirit.
* A yearning for Jesus, and mourning, a brokenness and weeping with godly
sorrow for sin. Only after such dealings of the Spirit will the true blessing
of joy come!
**I will depend on Jesus, for everything!

Hebrews 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

*God created us for Himself but we sold ourselves into slavery to the devil.
*If we’re only loving in order to change the other person or the circumstances, our motivation is totally wrong. That’s conditional human love, and not God’s Love at all.   If selfishness is motivating us, the fruit of our actions will be rotten.
*  “Love…does not seek its own…”
1 Corinthians 13:4-5

God is jealous for His glory. He cannot share it with false gods. He clearly promised blessings for keeping the covenant and curses for breaking the covenant.
*Serving other gods was the most heinous offense against God and grounds for breaking the covenant. *Despite God sending prophets to warn the people of their transgressions, they always turned to idol worship until the exile of Judah.

** We ALL need to remove idols from our lives.  What’s an idol?
Idol– whatever takes priority over our relationship with God.

** These idols may take the form of family, work, volunteering,  recreation/sports, tv, cell phones, I-pad,  gaming, and even ministry.
**If we don’t set our priorities straight, God will do it for us.

When the final day comes, I know we all want Jesus to take your hand and whisper, “At last we’re together! You have desired Me so. You have given Me the best of your life, your time, your attention. Come, now—let us be one!”

How will you stand before Him on that day? Everything of this world is going to
burn. But what about your intimacy with Him? Will you be able to stand before
Him knowing you shut out the world and cried out that you wanted to know Him?
John 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
Listen to Jesus in Verse  4″ I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5 Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.”

“Then I prayed to the God of heaven…” Nehemiah 2:4b
* Let’s allow the power of prayer to revive our spirit and restore our physical and mental vigor. By following Nehemiah’s example we will have the energy needed to defeat the enemy and thrive in the midst of our day to day challenges.

* Seek security by recognizing God as the Source of security.
*”Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me”.(JN 14:6)
Father, thank You for the Truth as it is in Jesus.    Lord, through the power of prayer, today’s challenge can be tomorrow’s victory.  Forgive me when I make prayer my last resort instead of my first choice.  Help me remember the truths You have taught me today.  Thank You for prayer and the power I receive when I turn to You.  Increase  my Personal Relationship with You Jesus.
” Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.  All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.”  (Jude 24-25).  Thank you for loving us so much God that you see us as faultless even when I stumble. Remind me that I can’t become perfect but I can continue to make choices that become more like Christ.   God, thank you for salvation and for your Son. Thank You for Your  Victory over sin and idols at the Cross.   Please help me to serve You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
God’s Love is the only solid foundation upon which human love can be built. If “feelings” have diminished or died within a relationship, only Agape can rekindle the flame.
*  “…the things impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27

Victory has been won!

By Bob / December 26, 2011

What is God’s greatest plan for your life? To make you into a holy vessel brimming with truth, humility and [Agape] Love.
*”He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Micah 6:8
*Gifts to Give God:    1). Walk upright 2). Be caring 3). Love 4). Walk in forgiveness 5). Walk in humility

We Have Victory in JESUS!
” But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1John 4:4
Whatever you’re facing in life, or whatever is coming in your future, God has already given you the faith for it. It may not look like it, and you may not feel like you have what it takes to overcome, but faith in God isn’t based on our circumstances or how we feel.

The enemy would like for you to believe that you don’t have a chance in life, that you’re too weak, too poor, too whatever. BUT God has a different view of you. God sees you through the eyes of LOVE.
**God sees not what you can be, but what He has invested in you, not what you or others may see.

Seeing yourself the way God sees you leads to a life of overwhelming victory.
**But it takes faith. You can’t just hear that God loves you and sees you as His child, you have to Believe it.
** It takes faith to move forward and overcome the challenges of life. And faith does you no good if you don’t know how to release it. You have to release your faith in order for it to work.

We release faith through our Words, Actions and, of course, through Prayer. It’s up to us to act.

The apostle Paul was one of the most mature Christians who ever lived, yet he wasn’t ashamed of his human frailties. He knew God loved him no matter what, and He understood that confessing his weakness was essential to walking in God’s Strength.
** “Therefore I am well content with weaknesses…for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10

Remember: The enemy lies to us to make problems Appear Bigger than the solutions we carry!
**2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Our death to sin and resurrection to life with Christ, is already a reality in our spirits but will only become a physical reality when we KNOW and Believe it.
(See Ephesians 2:1-10)

In the same way that Jesus died unto sin once, and death no longer has dominion over Him, the person who recognizes their death with Christ unto sin, will not allow sin to rule over him anymore.
** Christian’s who are struggling with sin have not fully recognized that they are dead unto sin.
***Hebrews 10:16 “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” 17 Then he says,
“I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” 18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
*As christians we are suppose to walk in the fruit of the spirit at all times
” But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, and self-control…” Galatians 5:22,23
* Be a hearer and a doers of God’s word.

Your present vision will be established as you embrace the challenges of this season. The Lord’s people will not perish for a lack of vision in this season. Rejoice and be glad for the time of the victory and the Day of the Lord’ power is at hand.
Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

The devil knows that if he can get us to think about something, we are only a step away from actually doing it. He knows that our minds are “command central.” It is here that we reason. It is here that we remember. It is here that we dream.
Our minds are the hard drive, the place where everything originates.
***Satan knows that it is only a short step from a thought to an act.
Eph. 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

We need to understand that the devil works with two very close allies: the world and the flesh.
*“The world” is the world system that is hostile toward God. It is living for personal gratification, OUR own will above all else.
*Then there is the flesh. When the Bible speaks of the flesh, it speaks more of the depraved, fallen human nature in which we are gratifying sensual appetites.
**Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

*A stronghold is an area where we are held in bondage, any part of our lives where satan has imprisoned us.
* As long as we believe things that are not true, we will remain imprisoned by those strongholds.
*The Word of God(ALL TRUTH) is the weapon that sets us free from the strongholds.

The enemy will try anything to separate us from God and keep us from fulfilling our destiny in Him. That is why we need to put our spiritual armor on every day.(See Ephesians 6).  We need to be in His word and spend quiet time listening to His voice.
AGAIN: We need to be in His word and spend quiet time listening to His voice as the Holy Spirit inspired Word speaks to us.
* We have to be humble and open to correction.
**Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Colossians 2:13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

God, I. Know and Believe that You love me and that You have given me the power to overcome.
