BEING REAL IN TODAY

*Mission Impossible?
**The word “impossible” does not appear in God’s dictionary.

*Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

*Through Christ the impossible becomes possible.

Proverbs 14:12…”There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death.”

Even with the best intentions and the right tools walking in a way that honors God and brings life to my soul and others around me is very difficult.

Sometimes the godly path we desire to be on in life seems impossible.
*Weighed down by reality, discouraged by obstacles, busy failing more than not.
*Sometimes our conclusion that what God is asking and the preacher is preaching just cannot be done.

It really is “Mission Impossible” to be a real man of God in today’s world.

Take the above reality and mix it with the obstacles that are unavoidable.

*These traps if you will, that we face daily, are unrelenting at times and hidden at others.
*Is it any wonder that men are discouraged and giving up as well as giving in to sin at alarming numbers today?
*When we consider these dangers (or traps) we are reminded of the wise words of Proverbs 14:12…”There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death.”
There are real dangers that we face daily, that push us into thinking that it is just not possible to be a real man of God in today’s world.

*Often we don’t even realize these traps are there before it is too late.

*I believe many men today have given up hope that they can be a real man in today’s world.
*They have decided to just do the best they can.

*The rivers of living water” Jesus talked about are but a distant dream. They have stopped hoping and are just surviving.

Yet there is HOPE.       Matthew 19:26 says “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
*Then Jesus comes in Matthew 11:28-30 and says “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus was a real man in his world. He can enable us to be Real Men in Today’s World. With Him it is not Mission Impossible! (see Colossians 2:2-3)

Lord: Help me to put You first.   So much I have left because I wanted first to pursue a personal dream but now only to follow Your calling. Grant me faith in You that You will show me Your calling and care for me as I follow it. Amen
