Are You Addicted to Sin?
Addicted to Sin!
SIN is the problem-not the addiction.
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
*Adam’s life led to death. Christ’s death led to life.
Romans 3:23 for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5:1 THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.
*…not just for me either. God loves us all and provided Jesus for each one of us.
*We are Free and fight from Victory- not for Victory! (1JN 4:4).
WHAT IS VICTORY YOU ASK?
Most of us know that SIN is at the Root of ALL our problems—our fear, guilt, anger, depression, loneliness, bitterness, pride, selfishness addictions, temptations, doubts, unforgiveness, sex outside marriage, pornography, divorce etc. Etc. .
***We KNOW SIN robs us of spiritual courage and vitality, but what we do not know is how to overcome the “sin which doth so easily beset us” ( Hebrews 12:1).
*We KNOW that VICTORY over all our enemies comes through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I don’t think that most people know or willing to admit they are truly sinners.
*And our job is not just to lift people up; it is to point them to Christ. So we have to use the word SIN.
There is a counterfeit gospel. The apostle Paul wrote to the churches of Galatia, “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel” (Galatians 1:6).
* Just because someone uses the term
gospel doesn’t mean he or she is referring to the genuine gospel.
* Even if someone Claims they are preaching the gospel, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is the Real gospel.
For the gospel to be genuine, certain things must be in place. And one of those things is the acknowledgement that Everyone has sinned.
As 1 John 1:8 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
The ONLY solution for our SIN being removed is the CROSS!!!
*If the cross is not proclaimed, then it is not the gospel.
*Any proper presentation of the gospel includes the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
* Paul wrote to the believers at Corinth, “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).
Whenever there is the genuine, there also will be the counterfeit. And the devil has his fake version of just about everything—even the gospel.
I love Jesus, always have, and I know that he has ALL Power. I also know he promises me Victory, but just what does that mean and how does the victory come?
I am just beginning to see a little light on this mystery of godliness. God is asking me to do the following three things in my own search for Total Victory over all my addictions to sin.
1. I must learn to Hunger for holiness and Hate MY SIN.(Me first)
*Sin pollutes me and God cannot look upon sin; he cannot condone it.
*The fear of God is the basis of all freedom.
*Don’t expect to be excused or given special privileges. My SIN MUST be confessed and forsaken.
2. I must be convinced that God loves me in spite of my sin!
*God hates my sin with a perfect hatred, while at the same time GOD LOVES ME with an infinite compassion. *God’s love will never compromise with sin, but God clings to his sinning child with ONE Purpose in mind—
***To reclaim him!!!! Yes reclaim you and me for His Glory and our Joy!
* You are adopted by your Heavenly Father. You are no longer orphans-But sons and daughters of the Most High!
John 14:18″ I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”.
3. I must accept the loving help of my Father in resisting and overcoming.
*Sin is like an octopus with many tentacles trying to crush my life. Seldom do ALL the tentacles loosen their hold on me at once.
* It is one tentacle at a time(soul ties), one small victory at a time.
* God dispatches the Holy Spirit to me with clear direction on How to fight, When to run, Where to strike next.
*The battle against principalities and powers is His—not mine. I am just a soldier, fighting in his war.
*God wants me to totally believe in him. *My part in this war is to believe that God will bring me out of the battle victoriously! Put on the Armor of God (Eph. 6).
**Embracing the Fathers Love;
– the key to the law of abundance is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and your neighbour as yourself.
1 John 4:19 – We love Him because He first loved us.
– In order to love your neighbour, you must first love God.
We have addictions because of Sin.
**If we ask God to examine our heart everything we try to hide will be brought to the surface; it is there this day that “addiction to sin” is revealed and LIFE begins!!!!!!!
Romans 3: 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
* We all fall short to God because we’re all sinners.
* We don’t deserve to be called righteous, but through the undeserved kindness God gives us, he declares himself that we are righteous.
God showed us through Jesus Christ when he freed us from our sins.
We must daily choose to walk with God, rather than to walk the way of the world.
“For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”Psalm 84:10
***It’s so amazing how God can love us like this.
*By letting HIS son die on the Cross so that we can be called HIS Children!!!
*And because HIS love for us is so strong, we are made right with him the moment we believe in Jesus!!
Do you See and Feel and Really know-what it Cost God for US to FREELY have Grace?
And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. (John 1:16)
*Jesus fulfills the intention of the law by bringing Grace and Truth to the lives of those WHO Receive HIM.
“Grace is not Freedom from Law.
*Grace is the power to live in God’s Truth which the law represents.
**Any Sin is a serious matter! Sin separates us from God.
*It is a perversion of Christian doctrine to say that since there is now Grace, we can continue to sin so that grace may abound. (Romans 6:1)
*So, we must strive daily to live Holy lives!! (1 Thess. 4)
BUT if we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father – Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1).
* So we must quickly confess and repent and receive God’s forgiveness.
*Our lives must be characterized by holiness, not by sin.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you so much for everything. Thank you for sending your one and only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for everyone’s sins. As children of the light, I pray that you remind every single one off us, and for those who are not in the light that we are made right with you because we believe in Jesus. There is nothing we can ever do to repay what Jesus had to do on the cross, but because of the light I have seen in scripture, sharing the True Gospel to my brothers and sisters in Christ is something I have to do. Lord, thank you so much for everything once again. I ask for strength and guidance Lord, and I pray all this In Jesus name. Amen!
