Forgiving Two Giants
May your life continually reflect God’s mercy and lovingkindness.
“…Lovingkindness will be built up forever; in the heavens Thou wilt establish Thy faithfulness.”Psalm 89:2
Forgiving
——-Identifying the Twin Giants —–
*Giant #1: An unwillingness to FORGIVE OURSELVES (look at what I did, look at what I caused, look at what I ruined. There’s no way. It’s just too big, too unforgivable.)
*Giant #2: An unwillingness to FORGIVE OTHERS (fear, unthinkable)
—– The Giant-Slaying Weapon —–
That weapon: the REALITY that God has FORGIVEN YOU!!!!
Psalm 103:121, John 1:9, Acts 10:43, Luke 7:48, Psalm 86:5, Jeremiah 31:34, etc.
God’s forgiveness means that God will no longer require PAYMENT from you for the SINS YOU’VE ALREADY COMMITTED.
*Jesus took the debt we owed, the debt we could have never paid, and Jesus covered it.
*Did I commit the sin? Yes.
* Did I deserve to be punished for it? Yes.
* Was there any way I could have ever paid it? Nope.
** But it’s been covered.
* Will I ever sin again? Yes.
* Does God know that? Yes.
** But Jesus chose to forgive you anyway because Jesus loves you.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
As we mature in the faith, we begin moving in victory after victory with our Lord.
Then out of nowhere, an event happens that reveals our True Sin Nature, and we are confronted face to face with this reality.
We cannot believe that WE are capable of such sin.
** When God looks at us, He looks at the Blood of Christ that has covered our sin.
God does not look at our sin ONCE we confess it.
When we have difficulty forgiving ourselves, this is Pride at its deepest level.
*WE are making an assumption that WE should never have sinned and that WE are too mature to sin.
*This is a trap from the enemy of our souls.
**People who cannot forgive do not recognize From WHAT they have been forgiven.
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 John 1: 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from ALL sin.
Remember to always operate in the fullness of God, so that others in darkness will SEE the light in YOU which is God within’ you.
There is always light at the end of a tunnel, but you need to make a decision to get out of darkness because you cannot be in darkness and operate in the fullness of God.
Confess and REPENT before God, that way He will cleanse you of ALL your sins and then you can operate in the fullness of God and step forth into light.
If You will allow it, the Lord will remove the pressure that creates stress.
*The Lord would have You move with Him in the same way that the eagle effortlessly soars on the thermals, doing what it was created to do.
* The Lord would have You to yield to the moving of His Spirit with the joy and ease of doing what You have been created for.
It is only when WE give in to anxiety and operate under the burden of worry that WE lose our joy and peace.
The Lord will relieve US if WE will completely put our trust in HIM!
Isaiah 30:21 Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.
*Let us, allow God to be God in our life! Amazing things will happen!
The good road may not be the easy road. But you can trust God, no need to ask what’s on the broad road.
*Blessing always follows obedience. God didn’t say to do your best, he commanded Enter in here.
*We need to adjust our lives to God’s word.
*We have to get to the place to allow God to love us, Then in That relationship He leads us.
*How foolish it is to read God’s word and think well, I’ll be the one to get by.
God knows of the danger on the broad road.
Even as christians we need to chose to stay on the narrow road.
**Salvation is simple.
*People are the ones that create the difficulties.
* Salvation requires conviction AND conversion.
There has to be a Change in Our life.
* New is not always better spiritually. God is able to FORGIVE ABUNDANTLY!
Psalms 86:4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you. 5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. 6 Hear my prayer, lord; listen to my cry for mercy. 7 When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.
*Come Holy Spirit-COME! Amen
