Next Level Leader

Next Level Leader part 1 of 2.

We are ALL leaders in some way shape or form (home-kids-elderly parents-work-coaching-

activities-Our Time-etc)

I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more LEADERS, not more followers.(Example-do we want our children to follow us their whole Life?-or do we teach/lead them to  the next level?)

Romans 14:19 So let’s agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other. Help others with encouraging words; 20 don’t drag them down by finding fault.

The definition of a Next-Level Leader is this-
A leader that not only elevates their personal leadership to the next level, but also elevates the leadership of their team members, family, peers, and competition to the next level.
They simply challenge and encourage those around them to dream BIG, think BIGGER.

Next-Level Leaders  do these things:

1.) Challenge Things-
They challenge things because they are supposed to be challenged.  They not only challenge the thoughts/methods of their leaders, but they challenge their own methodology.
*Challenging things is not about being combative but rather raising every-one’s leadership game to the next level. * It’s okay to respectfully disagree.
KEY: 1 Thess. 5:14 Our counsel is that you warn the Freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs.

2.) Ask the Right Questions-
They always ask the right questions… They begin sentences with
*What if?
* Have you ever thought about?
* This might sound crazy, but do you think we can…?”
**** Have a list of questions and not a list of answers.
Isaiah 50:4 The Master, God, has given me a well-taught tongue, So I know how to encourage tired people.

3.) Dream BIG-
They are always dreaming and imagining.
They take their leadership game to the next level by dreaming BIG, encouraging those around them to dream BIG, writing their dreams down, and making those dreams a reality.  They dream BIG, think BIGGER.
1 Thess. 5:11 So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind.

4.) Learners-
They are always learning from: books, blogs, their industry, history, other industries, culture, failures, their followers, other  Leaders and mainly the Bible through the Holy Spirit.
They elevate their leadership game to the next level by realizing that learning is fundamental.(History is a great teacher)
Acts 13:15 After the reading of the Scriptures-God’s Law and the Prophets-the president of the meeting asked them, “Friends, do you have anything you want to say? A word of encouragement, perhaps?”

5.) Produce Next-Level Leaders
Next-Level Leaders contribute to the world of leadership by truly caring about those that they lead and always developing  Leaders.
They never confuse management with leadership.
*Managers manage people and things…****Next-Level Leaders produce other Next-Level Leaders.

Simply put: “If you are not developing and producing  Leaders…you are not a Next Level Leader.”  Next-Level leadership is NOT about how tall your tree can grow BUT rather the type of fruit your tree can produce.
Acts 20:20 I (Paul) didn’t skimp or trim in any way. Every truth and encouragement that could have made a difference to you, you got. I taught you out in public and I taught you in your homes,

I stated at the start that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.
*Every saint has a PAST… Every sinner has a FUTURE!
*Help others with encouraging words!!
*Remove the” distractions” around you.
*Educate everybody around you.
*Change the currency of your life. Living God’s will is the new currency.
*Serving God. Serve with humility, not humanity.
*Serving with many tears and trials. *People will plot against you.
* Feed your faith. And follow the breakthrough.
** Get in the word, find out what God says you can have, how to get it and how to keep it.  It’s All there!!
*Lev. 19:11 “Don’t steal. “Don’t lie. “Don’t deceive anyone.
*I need to remember to never HOLD ANYTHING back that I believe God is speaking to me! Even though I may not understand it or be afraid of it!!

The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God IS and by what he DOES for us,— NOT  by what we are and what we do for Him.
