Encouragement

The Power of Encouragement

We show God our love by our relation- ships with others.
The Lord is with us wherever we go and will give us strength!

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, BUT Encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Let’s get excited about coming up with creative ways to build others up!
God created us to be social creatures, and we are influenced by each other, either for good or for worse. Time spent with other believers influences us to do good, and encourages us as we see the world crumble around us.  Who do you know that does not like Encouragement????
God instructs us to live in community — the dictionary says community is “a unified body of individuals”. We are united in Jesus Christ. The body of Christ supports and encourages us – and we in turn, support and encourage others – especially during our most difficult times. God builds our faith in community as we journey together and bear one another burdens.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9
Like God did with Joshua  and like He does with us, WE can come alongside each other in some of life’s hardest challenges and highest peaks and say, “Don’t give up, you can do it. I’ll be with you and I will help you.”

Isn’t it amazing that when we take our eyes off our fears, our doubts, and our struggles and focus on someone else’s needs, we somehow forget our own.
**In believing the power of God’s promises for others, our confidence in His promises for us seems to grow as well.

We are called to encourage! when we encourage we EQUIP each other we NOTICE each other we give COURAGE to each other, we also need to have a OPEN door to allow others to enter in to the Body so they can see the UNITY, we need to RALLY around those who need strengthening we need to APPRECIATE one another, and have GRACE for each other, and finally if we are going to build His Church then let’s ENCOURAGE one another.

So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

*Fear is a hindrance. It creates anxiety in our heart, it divides our mind, it drains our energy and it hinders whatever we’re doing in life. Learn how to conquer this damaging emotion and live with the confidence only found in God.

Have we allowed our prideful thoughts,
wounded emotions and self-centered
desires to quench God’s Love in our
hearts and separate us from each other?

God’s Love doesn’t just fall out of
heaven. It comes through us! We
are the Body of Christ on earth,
and His hand outstretched to heal.
“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us…” II Corinthians 5:20

“The one who says he is in the light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now” 1 John 2:9

I surprised myself. I had silenced the voices of my own fears by focusing on helping someone else overcome theirs. In that moment, I realized the same promises I was claiming for this person were true for me, too. I could do it with God’s strength, and I did!

Colossians 2: 2 My(Paul)) goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
*To Paul, there are great riches and treasures to be found in fully understanding the great mystery of God – Jesus Christ. Getting to know who he is, what he did, how he behaved and why he did what he did on earth will unlock many great mysteries of God and help us find the wisdom that we lack. That’s how powerful a deeper study on the life of our Lord Jesus can bring!

1 Thes. 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Father, help me to stop doubting You and Your Word. I want to live in belief and faith that I can do anything in faith and by Your strength.
Lord, thank You for the power of Your words that give me courage to become who You’ve created me to be – to go to places You’re calling me to go and climb spiritual heights that are out of my reach without Your help. Give me Your encouragement and help me encourage someone else today. In Jesus Name
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
Amen
